Blog Giveaway #1 - Courtney's Bath Boutique

This contest is being sponsored by a VERY talented crafter, Courtney @ Coutney's Bath Boutique. She has an etsy shop and creates bath products from soap to awesome whips! Her products are even VEGAN friendly!

For example, she has created a beautiful bar of cold process soap (vegan friendly also!) made from white tea mingled with fresh ginger.

Her soaps are soft, pampering, and contain natural vitamins A & E. All soaps are PROUDLY tested on Courtney's husband!

For this giveaway, Courtney is offering a pampering, spa experience for one lucky reader. It's her VEGAN friendly 4 oz LOVE SPELL handmade WHIPPED CREME SOAP that also triples as a foaming bath butter & shaving creme! Yes, ladies, you CAN shave with this deliciously whipped delight! It has the consistency of marshmallow fluff and a thick, rich, luxurious lather. And you won't run out fast because a little bit on a bath pouf with lather a long way. As a bath butter, it will leave your skin super moisturized.

MRI Results

My MRI from last night showed the trigeminal nerve on the right side of my face to be about twice the normal size. The TN nerve root is resting on blood vessels, causing the "oh-god-help-me-now" pain. The only way to correct it is with surgery (there's one that places a teflon pad between the the blood vessels and the nerve, though drug therapy is supposed to have the best outcome). I have been prescribed carbamazepine & gabapentin (aka neurontin). My husband has been so wonderful & empathetic (I love you Dan). My family has been supportive but I don't think they really know or quite understand TN.

I am not taking any narcotics for the pain because Dr C says they are pretty useless. The pain episodes have gotten longer and more painful. I have been on the gabapentin for 2 weeks now and the carbamazepine (one day) should kick in within a couple of weeks. Any prayers would be grateful. Trigeminal Neuralgia is horribly painful.

Here's a GREAT newscast by a Seattle news channel - I watched it in tears because I can identify with the guy (except for the surgery part). Watch it. Learn from it. Then visit EndThePain.org

Bad Christmas Gifts - Take 1

So I read an article on AOL that got me thinking about really bad Christmas gifts, or maybe just bad gifts all together. Take the following for instance...

The LifeGem® is a certified, high-quality diamond created from the
carbon of your loved one as a memorial to their unique life, or as a symbol of your personal and precious bond with another. LifeGem diamonds are molecularly identical to natural diamonds found at any high-end jeweler. To qualify as diamonds, they must have the exact same brilliance, fire, and hardness (the hardest substance known) as diamonds from the earth, and of course, they do! LifeGem diamonds are created individually from your specific carbon source in our patented process. Whether you've lost a loved one or simply want to celebrate your love, the LifeGem diamond provides a way to embrace your loved one’s memory day by day. The LifeGem® is the most unique and timeless tribute available for creating a testimony to their unique life. Your LifeGem memorial will offer comfort and support when and where you need it, and provide a lasting memory that endures just as a diamond does. Forever.

Yes folks, for a price range of $2,699 to $24,999 you too can take your loved ones remains and wear them as a piece of jewelry.

They can use either a lock of hair or 8oz of cremated remains to make the LifeGem diamond and it usually takes 6-9 months to created the jeweled piece.

And for the macabre, consider the FAMILY PLAN.

But that's not all - LifeGem can also turn Fluffy into a ring!
