I need to meditate more often. The only time I feel like I can really get into it is at bedtime when I'm undisturbed and my mind isn't wandering so much. The last five months have been cleansing for me - no work stress, no negative life sucking vortex, a separation that was a blessing in disguise. I have been busily reverting to stay at home mom mode (love it love it) but today I had a minor setback. See, I am a worrier and I tend to worry about things I cannot control. Obsessively even. I need to teach myself how to stop doing that. I have a great book I've been trying to read (ha going on 3 months now!) called The Little Book of Letting Go by Hugh Prather. It's been a godsend and I wish I had more time to read it. I think I'm only a third of the way through, if that. Prayer also does it for me too. My meditatations are often prayers of gratitude. So in this situation I cannot control, I guess I will have to do one of a few things: Give it to God to deal with, Pray for the courage to accept what is best for me and the things I cannot change, and/or jump into the book and read some more. Maybe blogging this helped just a little bit. One thing that ALWAYS makes me feel better is the support of Dan. If he's not bothered by it, why should I be? In the end, as long as we have our health, our family, and each other, then we are good to go.
