My First Born

Mandy, Elisabeth and Heather posted these and I loved reading them. Here's mine about Ian.

1. Were you married at the time? Of his birth, yes. Dan and I started talking about marriage in Nov 2005.

2. What were your reactions when you found out? Scared, Overwhelmed, Mixed emotions, then elated

3. How old were you? 24 when I had him

4. How did you find out you were pregnant? Doctor's office. I actually wasn't expecting a positive result

5. Who did you tell first? My friend Vanessa

6. Did you want to find out the sex? Yes, and I was glad I did.

7. Did you deliver early or late? Late, exactly one week after his due date

8. Due date: October 6th, 2006

9. Did you have morning sickness? a little bit in the first couple months but nothing too bad. I had migraines for the whole first trimester.

10. What did you crave? Hot Dogs. Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Watermelon. And then the last month or so it was chocolate milkshakes every night

11. Who irritated you the most? No one! We lived in Seattle so there wasn't anyone to irritate me

12. What was your first child's Sex? Male

13. How many pounds did you gain throughout the pregnancy? 32

14. Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? Just low platelet counts at every blood draw. Docs were concerned with my blood being able to clot. Thank goodness it worked itself out.

15. How long were you in labor? 37 hours.

17. Who drove you to the hospital? Dan

18. Who watched? Dan. But Janie, Steve, my mom and dad were all there waiting so patiently

19. Was it natural or c-section? C-section

20. Did you take medicine to ease the pain? No. I had some medicine to help me sleep after 30 hours though. I got in a 3 hour nap. Then I had an epidural for the c-section.

21. How much did your child weigh? 10 lbs even

22. What did you name him/her? Ian Scott O'Brien

23. How old is your first born today? 2 years young

A New Year

It's here! And I am a day late posting, lol

I have so many "resolutions" but I really don't want to categorize it that way. More like, motivations. One is to be more positive. My dad asked me if it's easier to be less negative or more positive. Chew on that. I decided it's harder to be more positive because one must be positive in the first place for there to be a "more" - therefore that's the road I am planning on taking.

I have discovered a blog - (well, she discovered me actually) - and this woman writes the most uplifting posts. (Marytes, I hope you don't mind that I am sharing this because I know my mother in law would probably love to read your blog). Visit her at Life is Beautiful.
